About the Lost Creek Home & Garden Club

What do you get when you mix yummy food with engaging conversation and remarkable women? Add interesting presentations on a variety of subjects and that equals The Lost Creek Home and Garden Club. First organized in 1977, Garden Club is an eclectic group of young and young-at-heart women, meeting monthly at a member's home.

This is not your average Garden Club. Although we are responsible for choosing the Yard of the Month and presenting the Holiday Lighting Awards, we also decorate the Lost Creek Park during the holidays and keep a careful watch over the median and entrance flower beds. We accept 40 full-time members and 15 associate members. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday from September through May.  Field trips have included such interesting locations as the Wine Tours to area Wineries, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, the Bob Bullock Museum, the Governor’s Mansion, and the Texas State Capitol. Each meeting opens with brunch and a program which has included a variety of topics.  Guest Speakers have included John Anderson from People’s Pharmacy, Financial Planning for Women, Ellen Zimmerman with Austin Herb Society, Dora Asstacio, succulent expert from The Great Outdoors, John Dromgoole from the Natural Gardener, Holiday table decorations by Breed and Company, Liz Morphis from Barton Springs Nursery, and our fabulous Christmas Party in December. The Lost Creek Home and Garden Club is a wonderful way to meet your neighbors, those young and not so young, with children or without, working in the house or out of the house.  The great diversity of the club is valuable to newcomers as well as those who have watched the neighborhood grow.  We invite you to be our guest at any one of our monthly gatherings.
